Many clinicians are fearful of what patients are going to say when writing. I look at this as putting your head into the sand. Just like any other form of patient-generated data, the data exists - but if we actually have a mechanism now where we can see it and use it, just like a vital sign, we can take it, acknowledge it and then act on it and then we will have better outcomes.
